🔗 THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The RetroWeather uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics: Google Firebase collects anonymized usage analytics to help us understand user behavior and improve the app. View Firebase Privacy Policy
• Location Services (Geocoding): We use device-level geocoding services to convert coordinates to city names (processed locally on your device).

💾 DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Local Storage: Your onboarding profile and activity journal are stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (GetStorage). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Cloud Services: Weather data is cached locally and refreshed every 10 minutes. Location coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo via secure HTTPS connections. Analytics events are sent to Firebase with no personally identifiable information (PII).

Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.

🔐 DEVICE PERMISSIONS

The RetroWeather requests the following permissions:

• Location Permission: Required to fetch weather data for your area. You can grant "Always", "Only While Using App", or deny this permission entirely.
• Home Screen Widget Permission: Required to display weather on iOS/Android home screen (iOS 14+ and Android 12+).

All permissions can be modified in your device settings at any time.

👤 YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

• Access: You can view all your personal data stored in the app (Profile → Settings)
• Deletion: You can delete your profile and all associated data within the app
• Opt-Out: You can disable location services, analytics tracking, or widgets at any time
• Portability: Contact us to request your data in a portable format (support@The RetroWeather.app)

👶 CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The RetroWeather is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.

📝 CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date or sending you a notification within the app.

🕐 DATA RETENTION

• Weather Cache: Refreshed every 10 minutes; old data automatically purged
